Zero Carbon Use

We're going 100% carbon neutral

Global warming. Climate change. Whatever you call it, all of us at Howler Technologies want to do something about it. We're changing our own energy consumption practices as well as investing in greenhouse gas reduction projects to make our impact on the climate as small as possible.

Carbon Neutral
We're committed to being an environmentally responsible business. We reflect this in the products we build and the working practices we adopt. We find that even the smallest individual changes can add up to a big change for the better. We hope to encourage our customers and partners to do likewise.

What does carbon neutral mean?
We don't want our energy use to add greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. So we're measuring our impacts, dramatically reducing where we can, and, for what remains, investing in projects elsewhere that reduce greenhouse gases in amounts equal to what we are emitting.

Reducing the impact of our organisation
For every ton of greenhouse gas emissions that we can't avoid putting into the atmosphere, we'll take out the same amount somewhere else. By this we mean that the amount of carbon generated by Howler resulting from company travel, heating, IT equipment or other processes we’ll offset through projects such as the planting of trees.

Reducing the impact of our products
Our products already do more for less. They consume less power, less space and require less cooling than others. This means your business will have a smaller carbon footprint when you use our products. But we won't stop there. We'll be searching to minimise their impact even further.

When does this happen?
We're committed to being an environmentally responsible business and to being as transparent as possible in our carbon neutral approach. Our product set is already lower-impact in its usage and we're implementing offsetting projects now. By the beginning of 2010, we hope to be carbon neutral.
